12 Champagne Cocktails For New Years

new years eve, new years day, new years cocktails, champagne cocktails

With New Years Eve only 2 days away, I thought it would be a great idea to give you 12 champagne cocktails for New Years Eve!

These cocktails are all different from one another and each one has a different ingredient in it.

None of these are mimosas, which is the  most common cocktail thought of when using champagne.

For me this year has not been a good one at all.

From the long long line of people who have passed away this year, both personal friends and famous icons.

 Another reason, and the most important one, why this year has not been good is because a few very close and very dear family members as well as a close and dear friend have had a very hard year, health wise.

Not only have they had one bad thing happen to them health wise, but multiple.

This past year has been filled with so many different emotions within me that sometimes when I actually stop.....and think about it.....SHIT......that's a lot for one person to absorb....and that's just me....me, not the person who is actually going through these horrible circumstances and has to deal with them first hand physically, not to mention mentally & emotionally.

Needless to say, I am SO ready to say Goodbye...or for those of you who know my tongue F%#$ Y&@ to 2016!

I need a fresh new start to a brand new year in hopes that this upcoming year is FAR better then this year!

On that note......let's talk about alcohol!!  Here are 12 champagne cocktails that I have made over the years!  All different.  All good!

Raspberry Resolution

Day 316

Raspberry Resolution
4.5 shots out of 5

new years cocktail, new years eve cocktail, champagne, raspberry resolution, raspberry puree

**With New Years Eve a few days away, it's time to think beyond the classic glass of champagne!  This new years cocktail has been a crowd pleaser.  It's great what something as simple as raspberry puree can do to a glass of champagne!  Cheers!!**
(p.s. I think it's cool that I made this 4 days before NYE 4 years ago!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Four days until New Years Eve.
Sorry, I just have to say that out loud to be able to wrap my mind around it.......I'm still in shock.
I'd better test out some New Years Eve cocktails while I can then right?
Tonight I decided to create my own based off of a non-alcoholic version that I had created where you literally substitute sparkling cider for the champagne.
I gave tonight's cocktail 4.5 shots out of 5.
This is such an easy cocktail to make, I mean you already have the champagne in your glass, why not add some raspberry puree to it?
Don't like raspberry......well then try some passion fruit puree, strawberry puree, prickly pear puree.........whatever flavored puree you can find that you like.
Even better, buy them all and make them all to make sure you know which one is your absolute favorite.
You could always have a taste test bar for your guests on New Years Eve so that everyone can see which is the best.
Here is a couple photos of the end result:
Here is the recipe for a Raspberry Resolution:
  • 4 oz champagne
  • 1 oz raspberry puree
In a champagne flute, pour in your champagne and raspberry puree.  Stir to mix the puree in well.
Here's to a simple New Years Eve cocktail.......because honestly, by the time midnight comes, who can measure out ingredients anymore??
Cheers!!
White Chocolate Peppermint Martini
Day 309
White Chocolate Peppermint Martini
4 shots out of 5
christmas cocktail, white chocolate peppermint martini, vanilla vodka, peppermint schnapps, Godiva white chocolate liqueur, candy canes, candy cane sugar
**When I hear white chocolate and peppermint, I think winter which reminds me of Christmas.  Here is another delicious holiday cocktail I made a few years ago!**
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's Thursday night, today I got my hair cut, dyed and also got a pedicure.

Tonight I'm going to the movies with a couple friends.

WOW, what a "Me" day!

Our weekend plans of walking through a neighboring cities neighborhood to check out some amazing lights on Friday and then going to see the Zoo Lights on Saturday just got cancelled due to the rain that will be coming in this weekend......boo.

I gave tonight's cocktail 4 shots out of 5.

I found this recipe......which I unfortunately could not follow at cookingwithsugar.

Sugar used marshmallow sundae topping......I thought my marshmallow cream I had "might" work.....yea, NO it didn't.

Oh well, life goes on.

The only thing I'd change about this cocktail is the amount of peppermint schnapps.

For me, it's just a little bit too pepperminty, so I might cut it back to 1/2 an ounce instead.

Otherwise, this is a very holiday-ey cocktail that I'm sure many will love.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is the recipe for a White Chocolate Peppermint Martini:

  • 1 1/2 oz vanilla vodka
  • 3/4 oz peppermint schnapps
  • 1 1/2 oz Godiva white chocolate liqueur
  • candy canes, or candy cane sugar for rimming

In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above (except the last item which is for rimming). Shake and strain you cocktail into a candy cane or candy cane sugar rimmed martini glass.

Here's to my second cocktail that I get to use my BevMo candy cane sugar with!

Silent Night

Day 284

Silent Night
5 shots out of 5

silent night cocktail, coconut rum, malibu rum, pineapple juice, blue curacao, white creme de cacao, whipping cream, christmas cocktail

**This cocktail right here was one of my most favoritest Christmas cocktails that I have made......plus it's blue, how could you go wrong with a blue cocktail?**

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll tell you something, it won't be a silent night if you're making a batch of these for friends!
One of my best friends found this cocktail and pinned it on Pinterest for me to see, the link led me here to Grin and Bake It.
It sounded delicious and once again, I had to wait for Thanksgiving to be over to make it.
Oh and our soccer season is officially over and we now can start having family time during the weekends!
Just in time for the holidays!!
I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.
This is a very good cocktail.
I think it would be just as good even better if it was blended!
Yum.......perhaps I'll go try that right now?
OK, finish this blog post and then go try it, got it.
I already knew that Malibu and pineapple went well together, add the creme de cacao and blue curacao.....amazing, plus a sugar rimmed glass.....genius!
This will be another holiday (or any day really) crowd pleaser!
Here is a photo of the end result:
Snow White Chocolate Martini
Day 292
Snow White Chocolate Martini
3.5 shots out of 5
snow white chocolate martini, christmas cocktail, vanilla vodka, white creme de cacao, Godiva white chocolate liqueur
Another week is underway.
Only a day shy of 3 weeks left of school for the kids and then it's winter break.
I know these 3ish weeks are going to fly by, which will bring me 3 weeks closer to the end of my Year Of Cocktails.
WOW......
I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.
I found tonight's cocktail at Crowning Celebrations.
The only thing I didn't have was the dark chocolate shavings, so I used white chocolate shavings instead.
This cocktail was pretty good.
I think there's a bit too much vodka in this cocktail....for my liking anyways.  I would like to be able to taste the creme de cacao and Godiva liqueur a bit more instead.
Saying that, I totally just finished this martini in a few minutes flat......but will be grabbing for a beer in the fridge as soon as I finish typing tonight's blog.
Here is a photo of the end result:
Here is the recipe for a Snow White Chocolate Martini:
  • 2 oz vanilla vodka
  • 1/2 oz white creme de cacao
  • dark or white chocolate shavings for rimming
Whether you read tonight's cocktail as a Snow White.....Chocolate Martini (I read it this way....we have 4 kids, what can I say) or a Snow.....White Chocolate Martini, I hope you enjoyed it more then I did.
Cheers!!
Hornitos LA MAN-ZANA
Hornitos LA MAN-ZANA, tequila, lemon juice, beer, Mexican beer, Mexican lager, spiced honey tequila
**I was sent this sample of Hornitos Spiced Honey tequila without any payment.
All opinions in this post are 100% mine**
Spiced honey tequila.  Ever heard of it?  I sure hadn't until I was sent a bottle and a recipe to try it with.  What I haven't done yet (not quite sure why) is try it by itself.  I will have to do that.
When I get a recipe that mixes alcohol and beer together I usually get a little worried.  I LOVE beer.  I love a good cocktail too.  Mixing them together scares me.
I have made cocktails with beer before and some turned out really good like my Moon-a-rita and my Chavela.  Others.....not so much, like my Peachy Beer Cocktail.
This cocktail falls in between there somewhere.
It definitely was not my favorite.
To be honest, I would never order this cocktail at a bar....or make it again here.  I guess what I'm saying is that this cocktail falls closer to the Peachy Beer Cocktail then the others.
To make this cocktail you need to do it in two parts.
You pour in the tequila.
Hornitos LA MAN-ZANA, tequila, lemon juice, beer, Mexican beer, Mexican lager, spiced honey tequila
Next add the apple cider.
Then you add the lemon juice.
Shake and strain into an ice filled cocktail glass.
Finally you add the Mexican lager.
Unfortunately I can't enjoy every single cocktail I make.  Fortunately I have some more cocktail recipes that I would like to try soon!
Here's to the week being half over already!
Sauza Minted Mule
Sauza Minted Mule, Sauza Signature Blue Silver Tequila, lime juice, ginger beer, Bundaberg, mint leaves, copper mug
**I was sent this sample of Sauza Signature Blue Silver Tequila without any payment.
All opinions in this post are 100% mine**
A few years ago I made a Moscow Mule.
I did not have a copper mug to make it in at that time.
Since then a friend of mine brought one over to make herself a cocktail....or two and left the mug here for future use (thanks Marisa).  Thanks to her, I was able to make this Sauza Minted Mule today!
The mix of these 4 simple ingredients together (tequila, lime juice, ginger beer and mint leaves) compliment each other so well.....and the copper mug!
WOW, it is keeping this cocktail super cold and adding to its super refreshing taste!
This last week has been one big emotional roller coaster, so I am very thankful for this refreshing cocktail right here, I must say!
Thanksgiving was good.
Quiet.
Smaller then usual......but good.
We had a small gathering of friends over the next day (not as big as we usually do.....which I think I needed).
On Saturday my husband started getting all of the outside Christmas lights out from storage and started getting them all programmed and ready to be put out on the house.
Sunday he put up the lights and I decorated the inside of the house.......which brings a very important discovery to my attention.
I NEED more Christmas decorations!!
I got this recipe from the fabulous people who sent me this sample of Sauza.  It's really an easy recipe.  First you pour into your empty copper cup the Sauza tequila.
Sauza Minted Mule, Sauza Signature Blue Silver Tequila, lime juice, ginger beer, Bundaberg, mint leaves, copper mug
Next the lime juice.
Sauza Minted Mule, Sauza Signature Blue Silver Tequila, lime juice, ginger beer, Bundaberg, mint leaves, copper mug
Followed by the ginger beer.
Sauza Minted Mule, Sauza Signature Blue Silver Tequila, lime juice, ginger beer, Bundaberg, mint leaves, copper mug
Stir it up and add ice.
Sauza Minted Mule, Sauza Signature Blue Silver Tequila, lime juice, ginger beer, Bundaberg, mint leaves, copper mug
Stir again and garnish with mint leaves.  See, it's simple!
Sauza Minted Mule, Sauza Signature Blue Silver Tequila, lime juice, ginger beer, Bundaberg, mint leaves, copper mug
I really like this cocktail.
A lot of you know that I've had a "bad experience" with tequila in my younger years.....but that was more in the form of doing Jose Cuervo (I shudder just thinking of it) shots.
Now that I'm older and wiser, I know that you need to buy (or at least I do) a better tequila when making mixed cocktails.  This cocktail is proof!
