Sake Sunrise

Day 114

Sake Sunrise
5 shots out of 5

Tonight we have our friends and their 3 daughters over to celebrate the last day of school/first day of summer!

I'm sooo glad that summer vacation has finally arrived, it's time to relax and enjoy our time off together.

My husband pulled out our bottle of sake and I decided to create a cocktail with it, hence my Sake Sunrise.

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

I have pineapple juice in the fridge and decided to see what sake and pineapple juice would taste like.

Sake has such a light taste that my proportions made it taste more like pineapple juice then anything else.

Therefore, I decided to make it a sunrise and pour some grenadine in to give it a little more flavor.

IT WORKED!!

I am really enjoying this cocktail, as is everyone else here.

I bought my bottle of sake a while ago at our local Trader Joe's for a couple bucks (score!).

I think I need to make more cocktails with sake!

Here is the recipe for a Sake Sunrise:

  • 1 shot of sake
  • 2 shots of pineapple juice (you could totally try 1 1/2 shots too)
  • a dash of grenadine
In a short glass, add ice, sake and pineapple juice.  Stir up ingredients real well.  Pour your splash of grenadine right down the middle and enjoy!

Here's to good friends and summer vacation!

Cheers!!
