Apple Pie Chata

We made it!

Day 5 is here and I now have 5 new cocktails that contain Rum Chata!

Yeay.

Let me tell you.......tonight's cocktail IS SOOOO NEEDED!

I made today a "No TV or computer game day".  Wait that's not the bad part, it actually went well........until we left the house.

Rewind....this morning the girls were playing in their room so peacefully.  Our second oldest son was doing his thing and would occasionally pop in the girls room to see what they were doing, it was nice.

I took our oldest son to get his hair cut.  Everything was going well.  We got home and the girls and youngest son had the girls room so clean, HUGE smile on my face.

OK, then like I promised you, let's head off to Michael's (local crafty kind of store) to find some fun things to do over the summer.

That's where we fell apart.

We get to the store, yeay.

Everyone's excited....then they start touching.......EVERY-THING.  I honestly can not count how many times I told them to stop touching....I was trying my hardest to use my "We're in public so I am going to try to talk stern, yet calmly to you" voice.

We finally got out of there and into the car where I proceeded to tell them where they went wrong.

There was denial that they did anything wrong, until I pointed out exact times and isles where "said incidents" happened.....which quieted them down.

Now I'm all for getting excited and finding fun things to pick out and of course you need to touch them to get them and check them out, but WE DON'T NEED TO TOUCH EVERYTHING......ESPECIALLY THE GLASS ITEMS!!

Phewph.....ok, sorry........rant done......now onto the cocktail!

I created tonight's cocktail with my apple pie liqueur because in a way with the spices I taste in the Rum Chata, reminds me of the spices (sort of) in my apple pie liqueur.

I thought they would be a good match.

I was right.

This is a pretty good cocktail!

Here's to 5 Days Of Rum Chata!  I had fun and I hope you all had fun following me in my adventure this week!

Caramel Apple Pie

I am inspired.

I wanted to make another apple pie liqueur cocktail.

Why not, I mean it IS Thursty Thursday is it not?

This week is on it's way out and the weekend is all but a day and a half away!

I have a photo shoot scheduled for this Saturday with one of my most favoritest families which I am excited for!

Other then that I think we get to spend some quiet (well not quiet with four kids, but you know what I mean) hours at home without having to rush off to practices or parties.

Good clean family time is what I have been missing lately with our busy schedules.

I had another crack at creating a cocktail with my newly found liqueur.

I call this one Caramel Apple Pie.

I had only pulled out the first two ingredient when I was creating this cocktail, but then saw the cinnamon stick on the front of the apple pie liqueur bottle and decided to pull out the Fireball as well!

Saying that, this cocktail has a bit more of a kick to it then yesterday's Apple Pie & Coffee cocktail I created.

I like this one a little bit more, I must say!

  • 2 ounces caramel vodka
  • 1 ounce apple pie liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce Fireball Whiskey
  • whipped cream
  • ground cinnamon

In a cocktail shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients except for the ground cinnamon.  Shake and strain into a cocktail glass and top with whipped cream and ground cinnnamon.

I hope you try this one, I am liking it more and more every sip I take!

Apple Pie & Coffee

We are well into November now.

It is only the 5th you say?

Oh well don't blink because tomorrow will be the 20th the way my calendar seems to fly by!

I always say that once Halloween is here, the year is over.  I may as well start planning for New Years.

I am a busy mom of four.......but I am aware that when my kids are grown and out of the house, the time between Halloween and New Years will be slower then molasses.......so I embrace these crazy insane last few months of the year to the fullest.

I was at my local Target yesterday and I found something new!

Fulton's now makes Apple Pie Liqueur.

Since their Pumpkin Pie Liqueur is AH-MAZE-ING, I thought I would give the Apple Pie Liqueur a try (not a huge apple pie fan, but hey that's what I said about gin right?).

I searched online and only found pictures of the bottle along with 2 recipes........2!  Well that allows me to be one of the very first to post some of my own recipes online, yeawhoo!

This liqueur is creamy just like their pumpkin pie version which is nice.

Not being a huge apple pie fan, I have to admit this cocktail is pretty darn good.  This bottle sells somewhere around $10 each, so for that price I figure I can make a good amount of cocktails using it.  If you are an apple pie fan I suggest you buy a bottle and try it along with me!
