Pumpkin Pie Eggnog

Pumpkin Pie Eggnog

It's Monday!

Time to start off a new week.

I have to admit this morning my day started off good at the gym.......then I got into the shower at the gym and TWICE my flip flop stuck to the shower floor as I was moving my foot and EEEEWWWWW my foot touched the floor.

Yup, you can bet I washed it real good......both times!

I don't know how you feel about gym showers, but I become a real germ-o-phobe when I'm in there.  I DON'T want to touch the walls or the floor or the shower curtain, no-no-no-no-no!!

After that my day turned right back around and was great!

Tonight I am cooking dinner and having my folks over and am very excited about it!!

As I said in my last post, I am going to try my hardest to start blogging and giving you all more cocktails!

Although eggnog doesn't always sit well with my tummy, I think that eggnog cocktails are pretty darn good.

I decided to revisit my Pumpkin Latta Martini and tweek it a little bit to include eggnog.  This cocktail is the perfect blend of pumpkin pie and eggnog flavors.

Delish!!

Time to start preparing dinner.......and maybe another cocktail while I'm at it?  Yes, yes I think that's in order!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is my recipe for a Pumpkin Pie Eggnog:

  • 1 1/2 ounces pumpkin pie vodka
  • 1 1/2 ounces pumpkin pie liqueur
  • 1 1/2 ounces eggnog

In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Shake and strain into a cocktail glass and enjoy!!

Here's to the last Monday of school for two whole weeks!!

Cheers!

Pumpkin Nog

 Pumpkin Nog

pumpkin nog, pumpkin pie vodka, eggnog, pumpkin pie spice, graham cracker, thanksgiving cocktail, fall cocktail, autumn cocktail, christmas cocktail

I was chatting with a friend last night and surprise, surprise the topic of alcohol came up!

Whaaaaattt??

She told me that Pinnacle has a Habanera flavored vodka (looks like a trip to the store is in order), then we talked about the Cinnamon Roll flavor they had and I got the cocktail making bug.

I opened up my bar (you've seen that post) today and peeked inside.

There it was, my Pumpkin Pie vodka!

Oh, we've had some good times together...so I decided that it was time to make a cocktail using it.

I decided to log onto Pinnacles site today to see if they had any new cocktails with that flavor since last time I checked.......cha-ching, they sure did!

I saw this one and crossed my fingers as I ran to the fridge in hopes that my 16 year old did not drink all of the eggnog.  He didn't!

This cocktail created by the good people at Pinnacle is SO simple and SO delicious!

I mean, it's got to be one of the easiest cocktails to make.  Plus it's the perfect Fall/Winter combo cocktail.  You have your pumpkin pie and your eggnog, WINNER!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is Pinnacle's Pumpkin Nog, with a couple tiny changes:

  • 1 1/2 ounces Pinnacle Pumpkin Pie vodka
  • 3 ounces Eggnog
  • Pumpkin Pie spice
  • 1/2 graham cracker

Wrap up the graham cracker in a paper towel and crush it until it turns into a bunch of crumbs.  Wet and rim your glass with water and roll it in your graham cracker crumbs.  In a shaker, add vodka and eggnog.  Shake and strain into your rimmed glass.  Garnish with pumpkin pie spice and enjoy!!

I have a feeling that this week might get a bit crazy, so I'm awfully glad that I am starting it out with one of these delicious cocktails!

Cheers!!

Pumpkin Latta Martini

Happy day after Halloween!

Happy Anniversary to my husband too!

Last night seems to have gone by so fast.....too fast actually.

We had a fun day yesterday which started off with our second son's (now I get why bloggers give their children code names in their posts, it's much easier to type SS for second son or SC for second child or whatever code you want instead of  typing out the entire words each and every time you want to mention them) Halloween parade at school.

The girls got all dressed up to walk him to school and watch the parade.

After school we came home and made these witch hat treats which the kids enjoyed making.

Our SS (just trying it out to see how it feels.......yup, feels good) has decided that in his 9 years of age, he is officially too old to dress up and go trick or treating.

Period.

End of story.

He did however allow me to spray paint his hair and wore an eye mask as well, but that is as far as it went.

A couple friends (Mike & Angie) came over to have dinner and celebrate with us.

Angie passed out candy with SS and her husband hit the pavement with my husband  the girls and I.

The girls totally scored with way too much candy and were knocked out as their heads hit their pillows.  All in all, it was a great night.

Before we ate I decided to make my Oh So Yummy Pumpkin Cake Martini's for Angie and I to enjoy.  Only problem was that I didn't have enough cake vodka (gasp, what is wrong with The Cocktail Lady??).  Instead I grabbed another vodka and gave it a shake.

Let me warn you, your very first sip will taste pumpkin pie spicy for sure....maybe a bit too much for your taste, but DO NOT let that stop you!

These martinis are a little TOO good, they go down a little TOO easy, wow......just wow.

As we were sipping them we decided that the name had to reflect the cocktail and since they tasted a whole lot like pumpkin pie spices, we decided to add latta in the name.

I do know that these cocktails will be made many, upon many more times in this household.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is my own recipe for a Pumpkin Latta Martini:

  • 1 1/2 ounces pumpkin pie vodka
  • 1 1/2 ounces pumpkin pie liqueur
  • 3/4 ounces milk

In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Shake and strain into a martini glass.

I hope you all had a safe but fun Halloween.

Cheers!

Halloween Brew

Halloween Brew is made with juices and pumpkin pie vodka to create a fun holiday cocktail.

Here we are, the Fifteenth of October.

This month is half over and Halloween is on its way.

This year my two girls are going to be Sofia (from Sofia The First) and Izzy (from Jake and the Never Land Pirates).  These two ladies are VERY VERY excited about Halloween......as I'm sure most kids are.  Our two boys on the other hand (9 & 14), ahh, not as excited.

This year our 9 year old has decided that he will not be dressing up or trick or treating.

Last night we ran to our local drug store and he saw spray paint for hair and one of those little masks that cover the eyes and nose and decided that he will only do that for Halloween.

OK.......I guess he's growing up faster then I'm ready for.

Our oldest son, 14, hasn't dressed up for a few years now.

This year he is going to a friends house to help his friend and brother scare people as they walk up to their house.........great.

What better way to celebrate the Fifteenth of October then with a Halloween cocktail!

I found this one where I have found many recipes, here on about.com.

This cocktail is OK.

I wouldn't make it again, but it is not horrible.

I may finish it, or I may heat up my coffee..........again......and finish that instead.

All in all, I am still on the hunt for a great cocktail using Pumpkin Pie vodka.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here's the recipe for a Halloween Brew:

  • 1 ounce pumpkin pie vodka
  • 2 ounces orange juice
  • 1 ounce cranberry cocktail juice

In a short cocktail glass filled 3/4 with crushed ice, pour in all three of your ingredients.  Stir them up well and that's it!

Here's to Halloween being right around the corner!

Thanksgiving Cider

Day 274

Thanksgiving Cider
3.5 shots out of 5

Thanksgiving is a week away!

When exactly did that happen?

This year has been flying by so quickly I can't even seem to get a handle on it.

If you were to tell me that Halloween was next week, I would totally believe you.

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.

Staying in the Thanksgiving spirit, I decided to make a cocktail tonight that had apple cider as an ingredient.

This cocktail is a pretty good one.  The pumpkin pie vodka mixes well with the apple cider (wasn't sure if it would), my only problem is that I think I was in the mood for a more flavorful cocktail tonight.

This cocktail has flavor (of course), but I think I wanted a more intense flavor then appley flavor.......oh well, my problem not yours.

In the season of apple cider, I will say that this cocktail fits right in.  I found this recipe here.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Thanksgiving cider cocktail, pumpkin pie vodka, apple cider, club soda, thanksgiving cocktail, fall cocktail, autumn cocktail

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for a Thanksgiving Cider:

  • 1 oz Pumpkin Pie Vodka
  • 3 oz apple cider
  • 1/4 oz club soda

In a tall glass filled with ice, pour in all of your ingredients and give it a good stir.

Here's to a good year so far.  Sure every year has their ups and downs (some more up and/or down then others), but in the end we have our cocktails!

Cheers!!

Thanksgiving Cocktail

Day 261

Thanksgiving Cocktail
3.5 shots out of 5

I get to go on a date night with my husband tonight!!!!

These occurrences are RARE, so I get totally excited when they actually happen!!

We'll be celebrating our anniversary a day late, but at least we get to celebrate it!

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.

This cocktail I whipped up myself, I figured that orange and cranberry would go good with the pumpkin flavor in the vodka.

This is not a super sweet, super flavorful cocktail.

This is a nice subtle cocktail where you can sit back and enjoy it's cold refreshingness (I love it when I type my own versions of words like "refreshingness" and it immediately gets a red squiggly line underneath it......like "Hey, that's not a real word!".

If you know me you know I speak "My Own Language" where I make up my own words at times) and also taste the hints of all of the ingredients mixed with in it.

This is a safe cocktail, in which I mean it doesn't have that face squinching alcohol taste, it isn't super sweet where you are kind of dreading the next sip, it's just a nice cocktail.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Thanksgiving cocktail, pumpkin pie vodka, cranberry juice, orange juice, grenadine

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Thanksgiving cocktail, pumpkin pie vodka, cranberry juice, orange juice, grenadine

Here is my recipe for a Thanksgiving Cocktail:

  • 1 1/2 oz Pinnacle Pumpkin Pie Vodka
  • 2 oz cranberry cocktail juice
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • 1/8 oz grenadine

In a tall cocktail glass filled with ice, pour in all of your ingredients.  Stir your cocktail up well and enjoy.

Here's to Pinnacle's Pumpkin Pie Vodka!  I even tasted the vodka on it's own before I made tonight's cocktail and I must say, it tastes good!  I can taste the pumpkin pie flavor in the vodka for sure.

Cheers!!

Spiced Pumpkin

Day 251

Spiced Pumpkin
3 shots out of 5

Spiced Pumpkin because it's that time of year again!

The Giants win the Penant.

The Giants win the Penant.

The Giants win the Penant.

Way to go San Francisco Giants!!

Now we're onto the World Series!

I have a bet on my facebook page with my cousin (a Tigers Fan) that the loosing team (the Tigers) will have to change their profile picture to the winning teams (the Giants) logo/picture for a week!

Game on cousin, Game ON!!

I gave tonight's cocktail 3 shots out of 5.

It's a pretty good cocktail.

Nothing as extremely exciting as my Pumpkin Pie Martini by far, but it's not a horrible cocktail either.

This cocktail sits somewhere in the middle of it all, .5 above the middle to be exact.

This cocktail asks for cinnamon sugar to rim the martini glass with......don't have any, so I mixed the two ingredients together and made my own.

This cocktail has an OK flavor where nothing jumps out at me when I sip it.

I will still continue to look for more cocktails using the Pumpkin Pie vodka.....there doesn't seem to be too many out there yet (as this is a new flavor), but I will continue to look.

Oh and check out what I got at Bev Mo today here, which doesn't include the new martini glass I got since I made tonight's cocktail in it.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Spiced Pumpkin because it's that time of year again!

Spiced Pumpkin ingredients

Here is the recipe for tonight's cocktail:

  • 2 oz Pinnacle Pumpkin Pie Vodka
  • 1 oz Irish Cream Liqueur
  • 1/4 oz half & half (or half milk and half cream like I did)
  • cinnamon sugar to rim your martini glass with
Rim your martini glass with cinnamon sugar.  In your shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above except for the cinnamon sugar.  Shake it up well and strain it into your cinnamon sugar rimmed martini glass.

Here's to a new flavor of vodka for Pinnacle!  I hope to find many yummy cocktails to make with it.

Cheers!!
