The year is more then half over and we are in my favorite season of the year!
With that in mind I wanted to give you another fun patriotic cocktail. The Independent Hemorrhage is such a unique fun shot to have with friends on the 4th.
Tell me THAT doesn't look cool!
These are always fun shots to make when you can get the colors to drip through the Baileys into the peach schnapps. This shot is easy to make too!
Pour in the peach schnapps.
Layer the Baileys on top.
Drip some grenadine.
Then some blueberry schnapps.
Until you get the look you want.
That's it. Simple right?

I was sent a bottle of Smirnoff Red, White & Berry to try. I was not paid for this post. I am here to tell you what I think about it and the awesome cocktail I made with it. All views and opinions are mine.
Ready or not, Memorial Day weekend is coming full steam ahead! But don't worry! I made a brand new cocktail in celebration! I call it Berry Patriotic!
I was contacted and asked if I would like to have a bottle of Smirnoff's Red, White & Berry vodka to make some cocktails with. Um. Heck yes I would LOVE a bottle!
Not only did they send me a bottle of vodka, they also sent me two bottles of their Red, White & Berry Smirnoff Ice! WIN!!
Let's start with the vodka.
OH MY!!
When you open up that bottle does it ever smell DELICIOUS!!!!
The berry aroma is great! I couldn't wait to create a cocktail with it.
So.......I went a little overboard and.......well sort of created 3 cocktails in one.
They had sent me some recipes that others had created and one of them was layered, so I knew I wanted to create my very own layered cocktail with this bottle.
I wrote down what I thought would work and started blending each layer AS QUICKLY AS I POSSIBLE COULD!
Yes, I totally could have stuck my glasses in the freezer between layers, but honestly I had all of my ingredients out and it really doesn't take much time to whip up the next layer so I decided to go for it.
It worked...until it was time to take a million photos of these fantastic cocktails......on a warm day......out in the sun.
Needless to say they started to melt a little, but that took NOTHING away from their taste or awesome layering!
I have got to say this cocktail is REALLY good!
I haven't had a sweet cocktail in quite some time and this one right here.......WOW!
Don't you just want to dive in?
OK, maybe it's just me?
Maybe it is.......
Anyways, what are your plans for the weekend? Any holiday celebrations you are throwing or attending?
We have a party this weekend which should be a great time! You can't beat family, friends, warm weather, food and of course cocktails!!
Now onto the Smirnoff Ice bottles they sent me!
I will admit, it's been years since I've had a Smirnoff Ice. Actually the last time I had one, they only came in their original flavor. Gasp. I know. Horrible.
So........these smell........delicious too! Oh that berry smell is great.
But how do they taste?
FREAKING AMAZING! I need to see if I can find these at the store because these are absolutely necessary for this weekend! Absolutely! PLUS, they're blue! I mean what could be better?
Did you notice their cap? Little stars!! How adorable is that?
OK, so let's get you that 3 in 1 recipe for the Berry Patriotic!

It's Tuesday! Holy Moly what a weekend we had! Saturday was out oldest daughters 7th birthday, yes she was born on a Friday The 13th!! Which I personally think is pretty darn cool. We decided that since it was her actual birthday, we would do both her friend and family party on the same day! It turned out to be a beautiful day! So beautiful in fact that for her friend part in the afternoon I wore shorts, a tank top and flip flops.........yes it was THAT nice......in February! Friend party was a success and then we had a slight break until the family party, which was also a success. She had fun from the minute she woke up until the minute she went to sleep. Our other little princess had a blast at her older sister's party.....and then at 4:30 in the morning I heard the call that you don't want to hear at 4:30 in the morning. "Mom!! I threw up!!" OH NO!! Poor thing was sick all Sunday and most of Monday. We finally saw the outside world today which I think was good for both of us.
With such an adventurous weekend, I decided that I needed to make myself a cocktail today. I still had a Mango Kerns in the fridge so I thought I'd do a quick search for a cocktail online. I found a couple, tweeked them a bit and made this one. My only complaint is that I wish I would have used Mango puree instead of the Kerns. I tasted the cocktail and thought, "It's OK". I then tasted the Kerns Mango on it's own and thought "It's OK". That's why I didn't love love this cocktail........lesson learned.

Here's to our daughter's 7th birthday and to our other daughters returning health!
This Ghostly Uprising shooter is perfect for Halloween. It reminds me of the Brain HemorrhageI made and has the same kind of consistency. It's really a fun shooter to drink!
I am starting to feel the pressure of the holidays coming on already. We only have 6 days left of September and then it is a countdown.....oh wait.....it's already been...until Halloween. Over the weekend our oldest daughter and I went shopping for her witch's costume at our local Halloween store. Now she has known that she wants to be a witch for Halloween since July, so that part was easy. There were 4 different costumes for her to choose from and she decided on this one. The only difference in the one pictured and the one she got was that the purple parts are not velvety on hers. She chose a broom and necklace and I bought a variety of SUPER sparkly eye shadows for her, her little sister and I to use and we were set!
Phewph.......glad that's over. Now I will need to figure out decorations and a menu for our party. I have a fun Halloween Treats board on Pinterest with some ideas I've pinned. I am always looking for more, so if you are not following me on Pinterest please do so and let me know you did so that I can follow you back. Let's share some fun Halloween ideas, whether it's food, decorating or just something fun!
Today I created an interesting shooter. This one tasted pretty good.......except for me trying to swallow down that HUGE hunk of Irish Cream you see in the picture. After I made it my husband and I decided that we want to try to (and I say "try to" b/c we come up with great ideas.....and then......we have 4 kids.........and well......look we're here and we showed up and we're all dressed........yeay, big accomplishment!!) make a line of these (or something similar) on the bar and as people show up on Halloween, make them shoot one. Fingers crossed we actually have time to do it.

1 ounce peach schnapps
1 ounce Irish Cream vanilla cinnamon
1/2 ounce black vodka
1/4-1/2 ounce grenadine
In a shot glass, pour in the peach schnapps. Next layer the Irish Cream on top. Then layer the black vodka on top of that. Now with a straw, drip the grenadine on top until the Irish Cream starts to lower into the peach schnapps.
Here's to the holidays coming whether we are ready or not!
Happy Wednesday! In case you were wondering.......tomorrow's my birthday! Thrillsville. Ha, no I meant yeay it's my birthday tomorrow, but you know.....once you have kids (or at least for me) you kind of really don't care a whole lot about your birthday. I honestly don't know it's coming until the kids get wind of it, and then they talk about it over and over and over. Then I realize....Dang it's been another year, hasn't it?
We have 2 days left until the 4th of July! We all love that holiday around here. If you need to be inspired with more Red, White & Blue things for the 4th, here are my Pinterest boards for you to take a look at: My Patriotic Cocktails & Shooters, Patriotic Yummies and Patriotic Crafts.
Sticking with the gin theme, I wanted to find a blue cocktail to make as the 4th approaches. I found this cocktail at about.com. Well I'll tell you.....it's blue for sure.....I even have some blue under a couple of my nails. This cocktail kinda.......tingles/burns the back of my throat (how's that for honesty). It's flavor is...OK, I do taste all of the ingredients...but I have to say that these three ingredients have been in better cocktails. Well, like I said.....it's blue for sure!

Here's to everyone having a wonderful Fourth of July! I hope you have time to celebrate and maybe even see some fireworks!
This Valentine's Kiss is the perfect Valentine's Day cocktail. It combines 3 simple ingredients for an extra delicious taste!
It's January and today's weather was quite warm. We were out in the backyard blowing bubbles for a while this afternoon and I almost wanted to go back in and change out of my jeans into shorts. I love love love the sun and the warm weather......the only thing bad about days like today is the unfortunate fact that we are in a drought right now.
On a better note, this weekend will be fun. We will be celebrating my Grandma's 98th birthday, our oldest's 15th "Friend Party" Birthday as well as hosting a small Brunch at our house, thanks to Pinnacle Vodka! They have a new flavor which is Cinnabon and it is not yet available up here in California where we live (it's only made it to Southern CA so far), so I am excited to be receiving a bottle and trying it out this weekend.
I had found another Valentine cocktail online, made it, and tried it........yuck! It had a horrible after taste of cough syrup, bleck. I dumped it and just created my own yummy cocktail. This cocktail has three simple ingredients, it's red, it goes down easy.....very easy and it's almost gone. What more could you ask for?
My Valentine Kiss is a perfect cocktail to make for a Valentine gathering. It's easy to make and if you are having a larger crowd over you could always make it in pitcher form, no problem. If your Valentine gathering includes yourself, or another person, these can be made by the one's and two's as well.

Here's to a fun filled weekend and a new cocktail for you all to try out during it!
When there's something strange in your neighborhood. Who you gonna call?
Wednesday......this week has me thrown off because the kids had Monday off of school so now I find me asking myself what day it is.......a lot. Time for a cocktail then I suppose. I found another Halloween cocktail on about.com and wanted to give it a try. I had such a blast making and trying all of the other Halloween cocktails I did last year that I'm sooo ready to make more this year.
Tonight's cocktail.......well, it looks pretty cool. It reminds me of the Brain Hemorrhage cocktail that I had made last year......except for the fact that the Brain Hemorrhage tastes a LOT better. Oh well lesson learned, just because it looks/sounds good doesn't mean it will be. Don't get me wrong, this was not a horrid cocktail, but it's one that I would not make again. This cocktail is just too sweet....yes, much too sweet.
Time to find more Halloween cocktails! If you have any that you would like to share, please email them to me.
