Ninja Turtle Cocktail

Day 39

Ninja Turtle
4.5 shots out of 5

**UPDATE: It's been over 4 years since I have posted this cocktail and it has been my most viewed and most popular post to date!  I am excited about that, but also excited for the TMNT2 movie that comes out today so that we can all enjoy this cocktail as well as the others I have listed below in honor of it!  Cheers!!**

ninja turtle cocktail, TMNT, malibu rum, coconut rum, melon liqueur, midori, pineapple juice

Ding, Ding, Ding another winner!!  Thanks again Fire Wench!!  I had all of the ingredients for the Ninja Turtle, so I figured I'd give it a shot!  Yum!!

I have to admit that when I first started straining this cocktail into my glass I got a little scared.....because of it's neon-ey green color.  I have to say, do NOT let the color fool you!

This is a good cocktail!!  It kind of has a creamy taste/after-taste.  It's kind of weird that it has that because you're not expecting it at all, but it's definitely weird in a GOOD way!

I gave tonight's cocktail 4.5 shots out of 5.  The Ninja Turtle is even husband approved!

I have to admit that ever since I decided that I was going to make it tonight, I have been singing the theme song to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" over and over again in my head!  And now I will say "You're Welcome", because I'm sure about 90% of you are now singing that song as well!

**Don't forget to check out my individual ninja turtle cocktails!  There's TMNT Raphael, TMNT Michelangelo, TMNT Leonardo, TMNT Donatello and Hockey Stick!**

Halloween Jello Shots

Halloween Jello Shots

jello shots, jello, halloween, halloween jello shots, fireball jello shots, margarita jello shots

It is the day before Halloween and I honestly thought that I would not have time to do a post today!  Yeay, here I am....posting!

These last two weeks have been insane crazy super busy.

I am kind of surprised that I survived it all.

First off, my stomach has been in knots with excitement and anxiety for the past few weeks as we've watched our San Francisco Giants go from the Wild Card Game all the way to winning The World Series!  What an emotional roller coaster that was!  As much as I love watching our Giants play, I'm so glad that's all over!

Halloween being on a Friday gives us all that cushion that we haven't had in quite a few years.

Now we don't have to get the kids to bed at a reasonable hour because of school the next day!  We can all hang out, have friends over and enjoy the holiday.

In celebration of that I decided to make some Jello Shots.

One of my very best friends is our Jello Shot lady.  She makes the best vodka jello shots ever and we all count on her to make them.  I decided that I wanted to try my hand at it, so I created 3 (yes you all get 3 recipes for the price of one today!) different recipes for Jello Shots.

All preparation is the same as it says on the box.

Pour gelatin package into a medium sized bowl.

Add boiling liquid/s.
Stir for 2 minutes (like it says on the box) until the gelatin is dissolved.

Next add your chilled/cold liquid ingredients and stir.

Here are my recipes for these 3 jello shots:

Fire Orange Cider

  • 6 ounce package orange flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup boiling apple cider
  • 10 ounces chilled Fireball Whisky
  • 6 ounces cold apple cider
  • 2 ounce plastic containers with lid (you'll need 24-26)

Margarita

  • 6 ounce package lime flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 8 ounces chilled tequila
  • 8 ounces margarita mix
  • 2 ounce plastic containers with lid (you'll need 24-26)

Coconut Grape

  • 6 ounce package grape flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 10 ounces chilled coconut rum
  • 6 ounces cold water
  • 2 ounce plastic containers with lid (you'll need 24-26)

Pour the mixture into 2 ounce containers and seal with lid. Stack in the fridge for 4 hours or until firm.  I suggest leaving it in the fridge for a day so that all of the flavors are even better.

I hope you all have a Happy Halloween and a wonderful weekend!  We have a very busy weekend ahead of us, so these jello shots will REALLY come in handy!!

Buttered Monkey

Rum Chata, vanilla vodka, banana liqueur, butterscotch schnapps, buttered monkey, buttered monkey photo, buttered monkey picture, buttered monkey image, buttered monkey recipe

Here we are, Day 4 and I have to say that I have been enjoying my challenge of "5 Days of Rum Chata"!

Today is another beautiful day here, boy are we lucky to have such nice weather right now.

The only bad thing is that we have "more or less" had such nice weather all year that we are in a drought and our lakes and rivers aren't what we all hope they would be in the summer.

It is what it is, we'll enjoy it either way.

Today I decided to try one of Rum Chata's cocktail recipes instead of a shooter.  I had seen some with banana liqueur and some with butterscotch schnaps.

Then I found this one which had both!  (That made me happy).

This cocktail is really good.

It's creamy, yet spicy, yet butterschotch-ey and a little banana-ey which makes this combination delicious!  Another winner from the good people at Rum Chata!

If this sounds good to you I highly recommend you try it!

Like right now......try it!

Blow Job

Day 323

Blow Job
4 shots out of 5

The every so popular Blow Job shot is a fun shot to watch people do as well as very delicious to drink yourself!

blow job shot, kahlua, Baileys, Irish Cream Liqueur, cocktail, blow job image, blow job photo, blow job picture

I totally will admit that I sort of miss making the holiday cocktails I got to make last month.

I do know that there are many more cocktails out there that need to be made though, so onward and upward.

Happy 3rd of January.

Today my oldest left on a six day trip with some of his classmates heading across the country.......I am a sad Mama today, but totally excited for him and his many adventures he will be having.

I gave tonight's cocktail 4 shots out of 5.

I have ordered these for friends and seem them before, yet never tried one.

Part because of the name and knowing that if I was to order one for myself, that at the exact moment I was to yell it to the bartender the entire bar would go quiet and I would look like a perv.

The other reason why I haven't ordered one yet is because from time to time I have these "not so coordinated" moments in life and I just know that because of the way you are supposed to drink this shot....with your mouth only putting your hands behind your back.......yea that thing would be all over me and the floor and.....well just everywhere.

A huge mess.

Instead I made it tonight in the comfort of my own home and totally shot it like a regular shot (sorry, didn't want to clean up after myself).

I did like this shooter and the whipped cream on top added to its yumminess.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

blow job shot, kahlua, Baileys, Irish Cream Liqueur, cocktail

Here is the recipe for a Blow Job:

  • 3/4 oz Kahlua
  • 3/4 oz Baileys
  • whipped cream
In a shot glass, pour in your Kahlua first and then layer your Baileys on top.  Finish it off with some whipped cream and if you're brave enough, drink it with your mouth only!

Here's to finally trying tonight's shooter.

Cheers!!
