Apple Pie

Apple Pie, Apple Pie recipe, Apple pie shot, Apple Pie photo, Apple Pie picture, Apple Pie image, whipped cream vodka, apple cider

Happy Saturday before the Fourth of July!

I figured I'd get this one in early so that you can try it this evening and let me know what you think.

With only 5 days left until the Fourth (4 until my birthday) I sat back and thought what flavor cocktail should I make to represent this great country?

Then the saying, "There's nothing more American than Apple Pie" came into my head.

BINGO!

I gave my very own creation 4.5 shots out of 5.

This shooter goes down VERY smooth and easy....yes it may even go down a bit too easy.

It tastes like apple pie and I have to say that the cinnamon sprinkled on top of this shooter is the one ingredient that REALLY makes it all come together.

So whatever you do, DO NOT forget the cinnamon (the photo below shows "some" cinnamon, but the rest is on the back side.......doh).......even if you don't like it all that much (like me), in this cocktail you can not skip it.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here are the ingredients for my Apple Pie:

  • 1 ounce whipped cream vodka
  • 1 ounce apple cider
  • whipped cream
  • ground cinnamon

In a shaker, add ice and your whipped cream vodka and apple cider.  Shake and strain into a shot glass.  Top with whipped cream and ground cinnamon.

Here's to America and our Apple Pies!

  1. Apparently my post didn't go through Saturday afternoon when I posted it :(. Good thing I checked on it now! Instead of being able to make it Saturday afternoon, now you can make it Sunday.........all day!!

  2. I will certainly try it with the sprinkled cinnamon. I'm just wondering if you tried using a dash of cinnamon schnapps in the drink instead of the powder? Perhaps that would just be too overwhelming, even in only a tiny dose.

    1. I'm not sure. It might work. The cinnamon flavor definitely makes the shooter for sure.

  3. Gonna try this one.

Have you tried mixing hard cider (I used Angry Orchard) with Fireball?
I think the mix was like... 1/2 oz fireball to 1 oz hard cider - if you do it as a shot. It evolved into a pint glass so I don't remember measurements. I should write stuff down.

    1. I have heard of it! It's called Angry Balls (the pint sized one). It's on my list of cocktails to make, one of my BFF's LOVES it =)
