Mucky Slide

Mucky Slide

Baileys, Irish Cream Liqueur, Baileys vanilla cinnamon, mud slide, black vodka, kahlua, halloween cocktail

Hi.....remember me?

Has it REALLY been almost 3 (gasp) weeks since my last post?

It has....oh my....I am soo sorry.  I had every intention to post last week.....then our oldest girl got a fever.  Then another week went by and here I am!

I wanted to give you all another fun Halloween cocktail to try.

I (of course) had to use my black vodka in this one....can you tell I'm loving this vodka?

This cocktail has a few delicious ingredients inside which make it an amazing cocktail!

I have to admit......I haven't eaten as much as I should have today so I am a bit tipsy really feeling this cocktail.

I have a couple friends coming over tonight, we will be working on one of their birthday invitations and I will be showing them how to put on Jamberry nails.

Yea......I think that's why I have been not posting recently as well.

I recently became an Independent Consultant for Jamberry Nails and .....Oh Em Gee........I love it!  If you have never tried these nail wraps, please let me know and I WILL send you out a sample to try.

I joined because of how wonderful the company and fellow consultants are.  It's like a family and it is NOT one of those companies where they want your money and give you no support or help what so ever.  (OK I need to stop b/c I can, and will, go on and on and on and on about them).  Instead of my talking your ear off about them, please check out my site, tell me what you think.  Let me know if you have any questions or if you would like me to send you a sample!   Here is a link to my site check it out here

Onto the cocktail.

I think I will be making this cocktail for my friends who are coming over tonight, because I sure know that I want another one!  Here it is, another Cocktail Lady Invention!

Ghostly Uprising

This Ghostly Uprising shooter is perfect for Halloween.  It reminds me of the Brain Hemorrhage I made and has the same kind of consistency.  It's really a fun shooter to drink!

I am starting to feel the pressure of the holidays coming on already.

We only have 6 days left of September and then it is a countdown.....oh wait.....it's already been...until Halloween.

Over the weekend our oldest daughter and I went shopping for her witch's costume at our local Halloween store.  Now she has known that she wants to be a witch for Halloween since July, so that part was easy.

There were 4 different costumes for her to choose from and she decided on this one.  The only difference in the one pictured and the one she got was that the purple parts are not velvety on hers.  She chose a broom and necklace and I bought a variety of SUPER sparkly eye shadows for her, her little sister and I to use and we were set!

Phewph.......glad that's over.

Now I will need to figure out decorations and a menu for our party.

I have a fun Halloween Treats board on Pinterest with some ideas I've pinned.  I am always looking for more, so if you are not following me on Pinterest please do so and let me know you did so that I can follow you back.  Let's share some fun Halloween ideas, whether it's food, decorating or just something fun!

Today I created an interesting shooter.

This one tasted pretty good.......except for me trying to swallow down that HUGE hunk of Irish Cream you see in the picture.

After I made it my husband and I decided that we want to try to (and I say "try to" b/c we come up with great ideas.....and then......we have 4 kids.........and well......look we're here and we showed up and we're all dressed........yeay, big accomplishment!!) make a line of these (or something similar) on the bar and as people show up on Halloween, make them shoot one.  Fingers crossed we actually have time to do it.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Halloween cocktail, peach schnapps, Baileys vanilla cinnamon, Irish Cream liqueur, black vodka

Here is the recipe for my Ghostly Uprising:

  • 1 ounce peach schnapps
  • 1 ounce Irish Cream vanilla cinnamon
  • 1/2 ounce black vodka
  • 1/4-1/2 ounce grenadine

In a shot glass, pour in the peach schnapps.  Next layer the Irish Cream on top.  Then layer the black vodka on top of that.  Now with a straw, drip the grenadine on top until the Irish Cream starts to lower into the peach schnapps.

Here's to the holidays coming whether we are ready or not!

Cheers!!

Chocolate Raspberry Cinnamon Cake

Chocolate Raspberry Cinnamon Cake is the BEST cocktail to bring all of those flavors together!

To say it's been hot is an understatement.

Last weekend we were able to take an extended weekend stay with one of my BFF's at her place in Fresno.

HOLY HOT WEEKEND!!

I think the hottest it got was somewhere around 110 degrees.  Yea that's too hot for me.....and of course the day we left it was about 20 degrees cooler......figures!

We were able to go to a water park with some pretty darn cool water slides while we were up there which was one of the bestest ideas ever!!

The kids were all sooo good and the water just helped everyone not be grouchy (myself included!!)

We were able to watch the Fresno Grizzles play (SF Giants AAA team) which was a great time and I now want a Grizzlies Hat.  Once we got home we got to check two items off of our Summer Time Bucket List, yeay us!!

Today I looked in my bar and noticed that I really haven't used my raspberry vodka in quite some time.  I pulled it out and a couple other bottles caught my eye, so I decided to get creative.

I created a pretty good cocktail which I topped with Cool Whip, which.....let's be honest, makes everything better!!

Irish Delight

St. Patrick's Day, St. Patrick's Day cocktails, Irish Delight, Irish Delight recipe, Irish Delight photo, Irish Delight picture, Irish Delight image

I created another cocktail for St. Patty's day today and I call it Irish Delight.

Towards the end of last year (still can't believe March is half over) I noticed all of these different flavors that Bailey's was coming out with.

I had purchased the Vanilla Cinnamon flavor and have only made one cocktail with it so far, Beauty And The Beast.  Today was my time to make another one.

I decided to pull out my bottle of Jamesons Whiskey and mix it up with the Baileys and see what I got.  Apparently I got an Irish Delight.......since that's what I named it.

Not being a whiskey girl, I must admit this cocktail is pretty good.

I do definitely taste the whiskey in it, but since this is a whiskey cocktail....I think you should.  The vanilla cinnamon flavoring in the Baileys adds a nice twist to this cocktail as well.  All in all, I like it and I think if you like the ingredients--you'll like it too!

This year for St. Patrick's Day we are having my folks over for dinner.

Every year we go to my parents house and my mom boils up a corned beef, but this year I am going to cook mine in the slow cooker.  I have tried my friend Stephanie's recipe for her Dijon Corned Beef.  My family all likes it and I just know the folks will like it as well.  I am also making one of her scalloped potato recipes, but in the oven.

YUM!!  I can't wait just thinking about it!

Do you have any plans for the day?  What are they?  What will you be eating and drinking?

Here in my recipe for an Irish Delight:

  • 1 ounce of Irish Whiskey
  • 1 1/2 ounces Baileys Vanilla Cinnamon Irish Cream

Fill a short cocktail glass up with ice.  Dump that ice into a shaker and pour in the two ingredients above.  Shake lightly to mix it up, but not too hard to crush the ice.  Dump everything back into your glass.

Here's to a good whiskey cocktail!

Cheers!!

Beauty And The Beast

Hello Hello!!

I sure wish I could have posted more cocktails for the upcoming holiday lately.  I am not "quite" sure what happened to the few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Thanksgiving came later this year, which I think screwed up a lot of us "time wise".

I still think that there is one more week between now and Christmas, but every time I look at the calendar it tells me otherwise........huh, go figure.

I had bought a bottle of Bailey's Vanilla Cinnamon flavor a while ago and have been walking past it on the bar ever since......swearing that I would be making a cocktail with it "very soon".

Today is FINALLY that day.

I found today's (notice I'm not saying tonight's?  Yea it's been an INSANELY CRAZY week) recipe at parkplaceleawood and decided to try it......not to mention that Beauty and the Beast is one of my favoritest Disney movies ever!

This is a pretty yummy shooter.

The peppermint gives you a nice bite and then the Baileys takes that bite away and coats your mouth with a wonderful taste.

This shooter is one I would recommend you making at holiday gatherings....or regular gatherings......or just by yourself?

Whatever works really.
