3 Hollow Chocolate Bunny Filled Cocktail Recipes For Easter

Don't you just love those adorable hollow chocolate bunnies that come out around Easter?  That was the one thing I ALWAYS looked forward to when Easter was approaching.

Now that you're an adult, you ever wish there was a little more to those bunnies?  Like alcohol?

Believe it or not we only have 3 days left until Easter.

Anyone else think it's kind of funny that Easter and April Fools Day are the same day this year?

HAVE YOU SEEN THE MEMES??

You know like the ones where they remove the little chocolate eggs from the foil and wrap grapes in the foil instead?

OH, what about the one where they make "cake pops" out of brussel sprouts?  OMG!

We are hosting Easter this year and I am DYING to do something like that!  I know me........I totally won't do it, but the idea of wanting to cracks me up!

What's on the menu for Easter?

We're serving ham, mashed potatoes, creamed corn & brussel sprouts (hee hee).  We also have family bringing fresh sourdough bread, cauliflower and for dessert FLAN!!

My Mother-in-law makes the BEST flan ever and I'm soooo excited that she's going to be making and bringing it on Sunday!!

Back to these little guys.

Did you know that they come in white chocolate and oreo cookies and cream?  WHAT?!?!  How fantastic is that!

I must admit, when I had to cut off their ears, I felt sad for them.......but then remembered that I'll be putting alcohol in them and then that feeling went away.

OFF WITH YOUR EARS!!

I've got to say, the line up of alcohol I had set out to make these three different recipes looked quite delicious....and quite a bit like I've got a problem, haha.  I was thinking, what if someone walked into my backyard while I had all of these bottles lined up....in the morning.

I got over it and mixed, shaked and poured my cocktails into these little guys.

Although I do always wonder........what exactly they're looking at!

Here's a tip: Make sure your bunnies DON'T have any holes before pouring liquid into them.

There they are!  3 Hollow Chocolate Bunny Filled Cocktail Recipes For Easter!

I will admit these little guys hold a lot more liquid inside of them then I would have thought!  Which in my book is a win-win!

One more thing.  Did you notice?  Did you notice that the chocolate bunny that I ended up with was not the same one I started with?

Yea it was a hot day and I turned around to fill him up and....

Good thing I bought extras!!

I hope you have a wonderful Easter filled with family, friends and of course COCKTAILS!!

Chocolate Covered Cranberry

Did I have you at chocolate?  I'm going to sweeten the deal and say cranberry too!  This Chocolate Covered Cranberry is the PERFECT cocktail to help you celebrate Valentine's Day.......or any day really!

Perfect blend of chocolate whipped vodka and cranberry juice.

A new year is upon us!

I for one am very excited about it.

Last year wasn't the best for me or my family with the loss of my mom.

I do believe in fresh starts though!

I was funny because of course the holidays were hard, but something clicked in me on New Years Eve and I was actually excited for the celebration and what it brought.  A BRAND NEW YEAR!

Something inside of me has been turned back on and I've already started cleaning, tried new recipes (I got an Instapot a year and 2 months ago, and FINALLY opened the box and used it), and just started enjoying life more!

Feels pretty darn good too!

Today I want to give you a recipe I created.

It's pink, which reminds me of Valentine's Day.

Not that we're big Valentine's Day celebrators over here, but sometimes a pink cocktail is just called for.

Perfect blend of chocolate whipped vodka and cranberry juice.

This cocktail is an easy one to make and it packs a good amount of flavor too.  You can really taste the chocolate and cranberry flavors inside.  Yum!!

You can't go wrong with chocolate whipped vodka.

Cranberry juice just seals the deal on the yum scale!

Here is my recipe, which I know you'll enjoy especially if you enjoy cranberry juice in your cocktails.

Chocolate Covered Cranberry

ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounces chocolate whipped vodka
  • 2 ounces cranberry juice
  • 1 ounce creme de cacao (light)
  • 1/2 ounce heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 ounce grenadine

instructions:

  1. In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.
  2. Shake and strain into a tall cocktail glass.
  3. Shake what ever is left in the shaker real well and strain onto the top of the cocktail to give it a frothier top.

Here's to a New Year and a new fresh start!  I hope this year is the best ever for you all!

Chocolate Whipped Cherry

Chocolate Whipped Cherry

Just like that January is just about over and what do I have to show for it?

Two cocktails.......that's it......two measly cocktails.

What all has happened in the past 3 (gasp, that's too long) weeks since I have last given you an amazing cocktail?

A LOT!

There have been many, many, many morning appointments where I was able to be the chauffeur, followed by errands to be run and lunches to be eaten........all of that before I pick up my two girls and the two boys come home.

Let's throw in a 100th birthday party?

OK!

Yes, my grandma turned 100 years old on Tuesday and we threw her a party on Saturday.

What a fun, fun time that was!!

The love of my life, my amazing Grandma and me

With January coming to an end, that means Valentines Day is right around the corner......which also means our oldest daughters birthday is on it's way too.

Time to start planning for both of those.

With about 2 1/2 weeks to go until V-Day, I thought I'd create a fun Valentiney cocktail.

Mission accomplished!  I was thinking chocolate and cherries and created this DELICIOUS cocktail for you all to try!  Super yummy in my book!!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Notice the heart isn't real drippy

Notice as time went on, my heart started to drip and my glass wasn't as chilled

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for a Chocolate Whipped Cherry:

  • 1 ounce chocolate whipped vodka
  • 1 ounce cherry vodka
  • 1 1/2 ounces Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce cherry juice (from the jar of maraschino cherries)
If you wanted to get a little creative, take chocolate syrup and create a design in a martini glass (mine was a heart and you can see the longer it took me to take the photos, the more it started to drip to the bottom, lol).  Stick your glass in the freezer to allow the chocolate to harden enough so that it won't run as soon as you pour the cocktail in (10ish minutes).

In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Shake and strain into your chilled martini glass.

For me time didn't slow down as the new year started.  It used to....a few years ago, but not anymore.  Here's to January coming to an end and February eager to get started!

Cheers!!

Cinnamon Chocolate Banana

Cinnamon Chocolate Banana

Cinnamon chocolate banana cocktail, chocolate whipped vodka, rum chata, banana liqueur, Godiva white chocolate liqueur

Happy New Year!

It's officially 2016 and honestly that year seemed like a loooong long ways away........but apparently it's here and I am "supposedly" another year older.....which would make me 23?

No?

32?

NO?

Oh wow......any-who, Happy New Year!

Over the winter break our oldest (who will somehow be 17 in a matter of 9 days) had his wisdom teeth removed, all 4.

Between all of our Christmas celebrations, our son's wisdom teeth being removed an New Years Eve, it's been an action packed, non-stop vacation.

I was looking through my bar and in the back I saw a bottle I used to have quite a good relationship with.  I pulled that bottle forward and decided to use it in tonight's cocktail.

That bottle is none less then my banana liqueur!  Welcome back BL!!

The flavor I taste most in tonight's cocktail is the Rum Chata, specifically the cinnamon flavor in it.

The first sip of this cocktail was CINNAMON-EY, yowza a bit intense, the following sips were a LOT better.

The banana is hidden a bit in this cocktail but still there.

Next time I make this cocktail I think I will dial down the Rum Chata and up the banana liqueur a bit.  Otherwise, it's a good cocktail!  If you are a Rum Chata fan, you will enjoy this one!

Here's to another year of opportunities!  Do you make New Years Resolutions?  I'd love to hear about them!

Reindeer Tracks

Day 295

Reindeer Tracks
3.5 shots out of 5

Tomorrow is Friday!

These weeks are going by so fast it only seems like yesterday that I was complaining that it was only Monday.

Love it when that happens!!

This weekend my husband will be putting up our Christmas lights......which utterly excites me!

I love driving home at night and seeing our house lit up and our Christmas tree through the window.  Those simple things make me happy.

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.

I am not a big Frangelico fan.

I can not remember which cocktail did it to me, but ever since I drank it, I have moved Frangelico up that ladder where tequila sits at the top of.

I remember!

It was my Chocolate Cake Shot.

I know there are a lot of you out there that like the Chocolate Cake Shot and are cursing me right now, but I just did not like it as much as I had hoped I would.

To enjoy Frangelico, I need a cocktail that has it as one of the "smaller" ingredients, as opposed to one of the "main" ingredients.

Back to tonight's cocktail.......ahhh, it was pretty good, not fantastic, but pretty good.

If you are a Frangelico fan, I think you'll really enjoy this one.  I found this recipe at the singlemindedwomen site.

Here is a photo of the end result:

christmas cocktail, reindeer tracks, chocolate vodka, hazelnut liqueur, Frangelico, dark creme de cacao, cream

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for Reindeer Tracks:

  • 2 oz chocolate vodka (I used Pinnacle Chocolate Whipped)
  • 1 oz hazelnut liqueur
  • 1/2 oz dark creme de cacao
  • 1/4 oz cream
  • cookie crumbles for rimming martini glass

Rim your martini glass with your cookie crumbles.  In a shaker add ice and all of the ingredients above except for the cookie crumbles.  Shake and strain your cocktail into your rimmed martini glass.

Here's to using cookie crumbles in a cocktail!!

Chocolate Coffee

Day 250

Chocolate Coffee
3.5 out of 5

Holy Moly the Giants game is on right now and we're recording it and I need to do tonight's cocktail so that I can sit down with my beer and fast food (totally had to so that I can focus on the game) and watch the Giants!!

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.

I found this recipe on Pinnacles facebook page and decided to give it a try!

Just like the name it absolutely does taste like Chocolate Coffee, and the whipped cream on top is an absolute must!

The whipped cream adds just a bit more creaminess to this cocktail that I really enjoy.

The only thing I would change about this cocktail would be cutting the vodka back 1/2 ounce.

It would take the bite of the vodka off enough to taste the coffee flavor a bit more.

Otherwise, it's a great combination!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for a Chocolate Coffee:

  • 2 oz Pinnacle Chocolate Whipped Vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur
  • 1/4 oz half & half (I used half milk and half cream since I didn't have any half & half)
  • whipped cream
In a shaker add ice and all of the ingredients above except for the whipped cream.  Shake it up well and strain your cocktail into a martini glass.  Squirt some whipped cream on top and enjoy!!

Here's to the SF Giants!  No matter what happens tonight, it's been a great ride!

Cheers!!
