Mexican Morning

Day 347

Mexican Morning
2.5 shots out of 5

Sunday is here and another weekend is just about behind us.  One week left until the Superbowl.  I can not wait to watch that game, it is going to be a good one!  I hope you all had a good weekend.  Did any of you try any new cocktails that I should know about?  If so, please email the recipes to me, I'd love to hear from you.  Oh wait......have I mentioned that I only have 19 days left of my blog?  19!!

I gave tonight's cocktail 2.5 shots out of 5.  I found this cocktail on the Finest Call website.  I really had higher hopes for this cocktail, I must say. I was excited to see what tequila and mango puree would taste like together and not that the two couldn't go together.......it's just that all of the ingredients in this cocktail kinda of make it taste like.....nothing.  It's not a super flavorful cocktail at all which is disappointing.  At least it's not a disgusting cocktail that makes me run to sink to dump it out!

Here is the recipe for a Mexican Morning:

  • 1 oz tequila
  • 1/2 oz peach schnapps
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • 2 oz mango puree
In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Shake and pour everything into a tall glass.

I hope you all had a great weekend and a great week ahead!

Cheers!!

Mango Chi Chi

Day 342

Mango Chi Chi
3.5 shots out of 5

Another school week is in full swing.  We had a holiday yesterday, so there are only four days of school this week.  I was kind of tripping out today when I was thinking that this friday I take our two year old for a check up and then next friday I register our fourteen year old or high school!  There's a range if I've ever heard one.

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.  I still have a few of my purees left in my fridge, so I'd like to use them sooner then later.  Tonight I chose my mango puree to make a cocktail out of.  I went to the Finest Call website and found tonight's cocktail.  I liked the Chi Chi I had made, so my hopes were high for a mango version.  The recipe they gave me only filled my glass a little over half way, so I doubled it, which was enough plus extra.  This is a nice mango-ey cocktail for sure.  It's refreshing and definitely one that I would drink poolside.....or even take it out to the backyard to so that it doesn't feel like I'm home drinking an outdoor cocktail.  The ingredients blend together well....but I have to admit that the more I drink, the more the mango-ey flavor is loosing it's awesomeness.  It's becoming a little much (I just totally changed my rating from a 4 to a 3.5).

Here is the recipe for a Mango Chi Chi:

  • 2 1/2 oz vodka
  • 3 oz cream of coconut
  • 3 oz pineapple juice
  • 3 oz mango puree
  • 2 cups ice
In a blender, add all of the ingredients above.  Blend until there are no more ice chunks and the cocktail is smooth.  Pour into a hurricane glass.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here's to being one step....or cocktail....closer to emptying out another puree bottle and gaining that much more room in my fridge!

Cheers!!

Mango Margarita

Day 213

Mango Margarita
5 shots out of 5

Tomorrow being Mexican Independence Day and my husbands birthday, I decided to make my tequila cocktail a little bit early (to raise a glass to Mexico) so that I could also make my husbands request on his birthday as well.

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

If you noticed how much I REALLY liked my Moon-A-Rita on Wednesday, you will not be surprised at all on tonight's cocktail.

Tonight's cocktail is basically my Moon-a-Rita......minus the Moon.

This cocktail is fabulous in flavor and really easy to make with it's 4 ingredients.

I have to say, we went out to dinner last week and I had ordered a Mango Margarita at a near by Mexican Restaurant and um.........YUCK!

I even had a few taste testers trying my margarita to make sure it wasn't my "Cocktail Lady" taste buds being snobby, and they all agreed that the flavor was nasty and it was simply a yucky cocktail.

Now that I have made tonight's recipe, there will never be a yucky Mango Margarita (in this house at least) again!

Moon-a-rita

Day 210

Moon-a-rita
5 shots out of 5

The BEST mango and beer margarita you'll ever have!

Happy Wednesday!

It's sooooo hot in this house that I needed a frozen cocktail for this evening.

Then I came across The Style Dossier blog from a pin on Pinterest.

There has been photos of this beer & margarita creations EVERYWHERE and when I found this one, it just sounded amazing.

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

HOLY YUMMY COCKTAIL!!!!!!!!

Stephanie came up the street to try tonight's cocktail and I had my husband try it as well when he got home.

2 thumbs up from all 3 of us!  Great job Katy with your Moon-a-rita!

This is a super yummy cocktail.

The mixture of the margarita ingredients along with the beer,

WOW, I didn't imagine they would go together so perfectly!

The BEST mango and beer margarita you'll ever have!

Here is the recipe for a Moon-a-rita:

  • 1 oz tequila
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1/2 oz sweet & sour mix
  • 2 oz mango puree
  • 1-12oz beer (I used Blue Moon's "Summer Honey Wheat".....hence the name "Moon-a-rita")

In a blender add 1 cup of ice and all of the ingredients above, except the beer.  Blend it all up until the ice is completely gone.  Pour your cocktail into a large goblet sized glass that will hold a beer bottle inside of it (without it falling out), leaving about 1/3 of the glass empty.  Open up your beer and submerge the head of the bottle into your cocktail.  Be sure to hold the beer bottle along with your glass when you drink it, otherwise your bottle will either fall out or bonk you on the head!

Here's to FINALLY making one of those beer & margarita cocktails!  Yeay!

Cheers!!

Banana Mango Delight

Day 73

Banana Mango Delight
5 shots out of 5

It's no secret........I like the banana flavor in my cocktails.

I have discovered the banana puree and thought it was amazing.

I also discovered banana liqueur and holy Mama, I absolutely love this stuff!!

I haven't put it in a cocktail that I have not liked yet!

Yes I know, for those of you who have not tried a cocktail with banana liqueur in it, the thought of it might sound odd, disgusting, yucky....I'm sure the list goes on.

I have to say........if you do like bananas, I recommend that you try it!  You may just be pleasantly surprised!

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

I LOVE this cocktail.

I think I'm going to be making myself another one after I'm done typing this blog!

In fact, yes I will be!

What a ride this blog has taken me on.

There's more liqueurs out there then I could have possibly imagined when I started this blog.

Vodka seems to come in just about every flavor I can think of, and many more that I would never have thought of in a million years.

I know that some of you have bought some of these liqueurs along with me and tried and liked them.

I cheers you all that have taken the plunge like me and tried something new along with me.  No more vodka cran days!

Not another rum and coke will be ordered (unless that's all there is, then bring it on with an olive!).

Mangana Daiquiri

Day 63

Mangana Daiquiri
5 shots out of 5

Holy yummy daiquiri I created!!

I'm liking this cocktail a whole lot!

Another great creation using my purees!!

I think these two purees are my favorite ones so far.

I think that's so because  raspberry is such a common flavor in cocktails and my peach puree........well....I still haven't figured out how to get it's flavor to pop yet.

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

I am absolutely loving this cocktail!

It's got a good blend of the mango puree and the banana puree.

The two DO compliment each other quite well, I must say!

Um, is it summer yet?

I really need to be sitting out in my backyard sipping on this cocktail!

Actually I have quite a line up of cocktails that I have blogged about that I would like to be sitting in my backyard sipping on, like the Blue HawaiianBack Porch BreezeChi Chi and quite a few more I just can't think of right now (perhaps this Mangana Daiquiri is why?).

I hope some of you try this cocktail and tell me what you think of it!

Crango Daiquiri

Day 49

Crango Daiquiri
4.5 shots out of 5

I set out all of my purees and my banana liqueur and just starred at them trying to think of a new creation.

I really wanted to use my banana liqueur with one of them, so the lucky winner was the mango puree!!

I gave tonight's cocktail 4.5 shots out of 5.

I am totally digging these blended cocktails and these purees (I know I've said that before, but I just totally am!).

Tonight's cocktail is making me want to book a tropical vacation at a hotel with a pool and a cocktail waiter/waitress that keeps their eye on my glass and comes running with a brand new one as I am sipping my very last sip!

OK, that was a long sentence.

I hope you try some of my blended cocktails and love them!

I want to thank ALL of you who have emailed me your favorite cocktail recipes!

I have enjoyed making the ones I have so far and can't wait to make the others that I have on my list!

Thank You for helping me try new and exciting cocktails each and every night!

Also, Thank You to all of you who come to my blog to see what I have been drinking nightly!
I appreciate it!

You're always welcome to email me just because, you don't need to have a recipe in hand.

OK, so onto the recipe.

Mango Orange Creamsicle Cocktail

Day 26

Mango Orange Creamsicle
5 shots out of 5

Um.......Perfect!

WOW, it amazes me that I can recreate a taste sooo perfectly!!

Well it amazes me that I can create a cocktail that actually tastes good for starters, but to have it taste just like the real thing?

WOW.

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5 because, well.......I really like creamsicles!

I added some mango to it to give it a little bit of a different taste to the common Orange Creamsicle (which there's absolutely nothing wrong with).

The mango is not overpowering at all, there's just enough of a subtle hint that you "just" know it's there.

I'm having a LOT of fun with these puree's I bought.

Keep your eyes peeled for more banana and mango (ooohh, or both together would be fun) flavored cocktails to come!

I can't wait to head back to the store and choose a couple new flavors!

Wonder which ones I should choose.

Have any of you had cocktails with any different flavors of the Finest Call purees that you would recommend me try next?

Let me know!

As always, if you have a favorite cocktail that you would like for me to try, please email it along with its recipe to me at cocktailady@gmail.com, I'd love to hear from you!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is the recipe for the Mango Orange Creamsicle:

  • 1 1/2 shots vanilla vodka
  • 1/2 shot orange curaçau
  • 1 shot mango puree
  • 2 shots orange juice
  • 1/2 shot cream

In a blender, add a cup of ice, vanilla vodka, orange curaçau, mango puree, orange juice and cream.  Blend until all of the ice is gone (no little pieces left).  Pour into a margarita glass and enjoy!!

Here's to a cocktail that brought me back to eating an orange creamsicle as a kid!

Cheers!!

Mango Tango Daiquiri

Day 25

Mango Tango Daiquiri
5 shots out of 5

I couldn't go and use my banana puree and not use my mango puree, sheeesh.

Tonight I once again created my own mango flavored Daiquiri.

This one was a little trickier then the Swing'n Banana Daiquiri, I have to say.

Mango has more of a tartier taste to it then the banana, so I had to offset that with a little bit of lime juice......which I had added too much of, therefore I needed to add more pineapple juice, then more mango, then some more mango, etc.

I finally came up with a recipe that absolutely worked, and worked well!

Our friends came over to taste test it (I've been calling them on a regular basis to come over to try "tonight's cocktail") and both agreed that it was amazing!!

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5 because all of the ingredients blended well together and complimented each other real good.

I tell you once summer comes I'm going to be ready with my blender and MANY ingredients we now have around the house!

The fun thing about it will be all of the different colors of blended cocktails I'll make!

From the Blue Hawaiian to the Chi Chi to the Swing'n Banana Daiquiri to the Piña Colada to tonight's cocktail the Mango Tango Daiquiri.

I'm definitely starting to make a rainbow of blended cocktails around here!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for MY Mango Tango Daiquiri:

  • 1 1/2 shots rum
  • 2 1/2 shots mango puree
  • 1/2 shot cream of coconut
  • 2 shots pineapple juice
  • 1/4 shot lime juice

As I had said, I had to keep increasing the amounts of each ingredient, so this is going to make a little more then one cocktail......but honestly, is is that a bad thing?  Not in my book!

In a blender add 1 cup of ice, rum, mango puree, cream of coconut, pineapple juice and lime juice.  Blend until there is no more ice, it should be a liquid.  Pour and enjoy!!

Hope you have enjoyed MY very own creations as much as I have!  Happy blending!!
