Another week done and we are now into February.  Hold on tight everyone, this year is going to fly by!

Have I got a perfect cocktail for you!

Royal Dynasty.

Sounds fancy doesn't it?  This cocktail may or may not be fancy, but it's oh so refreshing and simple to make.

I was sent a free bottle of Crown Royal Vanilla to review in exchange for my honest opinion.  All views in this post are mine and I was not compensated for them in any way.

What do I consider "simple to make" cocktail?  I consider it "simple" when there are very few steps in creating it.

For instance, the fact that I don't need to shake, blend or even stir this cocktail makes it SO SUPER SIMPLE in my book.

Speaking of "my book", did you hear?  I (finally) wrote my very first cocktail book!  There's more.......I already have 2 more in mind that I know you'll LOVE just as much as this first one!

Check out my Cocktail Book on Amazon! **

OK, so back to this super simple cocktail.

See.  I told you.  Simple, right?  4 easy steps and you are set to enjoy a delicious refreshing cocktail.  I mean just look at that cocktail!  It looks kinda perfect doesn't it?  Perfect in your hand with your feet up!

Here are the 3 simple ingredients that you need to make this cocktail.
(There goes that "simple" word again)

Time to give you the recipe!

Royal Dynasty

The Mighty Mug Review

The Mighty Mug review. Check out how these amazing cups, wine glasses and more won't get accidentally knocked over if you bump them.

(I was sent a free product to review in exchange for my honest opinion.  All views in this post are mine and I was not compensated for them in any way.)

Have you ever heard of the Mighty Mug?  I had never heard of it until I was contacted by Might Mug to check out their products.

I'm super glad they contacted me!  Not only does Mighty Mug have travel mugs, they also have barware as well......which is perfect for me!  OK, me because I'm the cocktail lady.....not me because I spill stuff all the time......just once in a while.

I don't want to wait any longer!  I want you to see what the Mighty Mug is all about!  Check it out in action.  I also just started my own YouTube channel!  This will be my very first video on there.  So head over to my channel and subscribe today!

So what did you think?

Pretty amazing right?

Can you believe it?

Why hasn't anyone EVER thought of that before?

Now you can drink your coffee, tea, wine, whisky, cocktail, juice or anything without accidentally knocking it over!  So we have a friend who is known for his mishaps.  I think this is a product that he (as well as all of us) can benefit from.

Here's a link to check it out on Amazon.  This is the red travel mug that you saw in the video.  While I was browsing on Amazon, I noticed that they also sell pint glasses!!  I think THOSE would really come in handy around here!

Hmmm......we do a gift exchange for our New Years Eve parties.......maybe I'll get a set of glasses for that.

I hope you enjoyed the video (be kind to me, it's my first video and I already know things I should have changed).  If you would like to see everything that Mighty Mug has to offer check out their website!

The ONLY wine club you want to join

The ONLY Wine Club
(you want to join)

Club W, wine, wine club

**Some links in this post are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you follow the link and make a purchase.

Yes I get it......that's a bold statement, but it's so true!

I love this wine club!!

I know that there are a lot of wine clubs out there and I have never ever been a member of any of them until Winc.

In my head, wine clubs limit you to (for the most part, not all of them I know) choosing from a variety of wines from one winery.

As much as I may love a merlot from a certain winery........I don't always want to drink that one merlot.

That is why I never joined wine clubs.

I didn't want to be limited.

Here is a link to my post on the Winc wine club if you missed it.  I talked about their club and how unique and amazing it is.  Winc ** goes around the world, YES I said world, and chooses grapes from wineries (around the world, yes, crazy right) and turns them into juice before they ship them back to their Winc facilities in California.

Some of these bottles of wine retail for over $40 a bottle, but because Winc bottles and labels each and every bottle themselves, they can cut out a lot of the extra costs and sell it to you at SUCH a discount!  I think that's soooooo cool!

I joined and ordered my first shipment in April 2016.

I received my bottles, tasted them, went back onto their website and rated them myself. That way they learn my likes and dislikes even better so that they can recommend bottle to me.  JUST LIKE NETFLIX!  So neat.

You can skip a month.....or two or how every many.  I skipped 2 and then decided it was time to see what they had.

CAN I JUST TELL YOU how excited I was to find a bottle of wine from Sicily, Italy (yup I'm part Sicilian), a bottle from South Africa and a bottle from Spain!!

That's what I mean...around the world.  I am not limited to the wineries in Napa California.

I had the choice of ordering 3 bottles of wine and paying $9.99 shipping......OR (I bet you can guess which option I took) ordering 4 bottles with FREE shipping and only paying $2 then I would have for the 3 bottles + shipping.

Yup I went with the 4 bottles!

wine from around the world

One from Sicily
Sicily Italy, wine

One from South Africa
South Africa, wine

One from Spain
Spain, wine

One from Paso Robles, California
Paso Robles, wine

I am sooo excited about these bottles!  I wish, wish, wish that I could share them with you all!

Unfortunately I can't do that, but I can direct you to their site where you can fill out a couple quick questions to help them get to know your wine palate.  Then you can sign up for their club and receive $20 Off Wine. Yes, Please!! **  No pressure to buy every month, just order when you want and enjoy!

Needless to say, I'm excited.

I can't wait to try these wines from around the world as well as the ones from here in California.

Check them out by either clicking the link above or the ad in the right had column of this page.  You'll be glad you did!

A bottle of wine makes a fantastic gift for birthdays and YES even the holidays that will be here before we know it.  Why not give a bottle of wine from another country, think of how awesome you'll look doing that!

Time to go open a bottle up.

Cheers!!

Kuli Kuli and Moringa

Kuli Kuli and Moringa

(I was sent a free product to review in exchange for my honest opinion.  All views in this post are mine and I was not compensated for them in any way.)

I was contacted by Kuli Kuli and asked if I would like to sample their Moringa powder and liquid supplements as they had made some margaritas with their coconut lime liquid supplement at a show and it was a huge hit!

I received a few packets of the powder and these 3 fun flavors of the liquids.  First I decided to make a Moringa Margarita with their Moringa powder.

I will admit, green powder kinda scares me.  There I said it.  It's true.  I whipped up a margarita recipe I was provided by Kuli Kuli and put in the powder.  Shook it up and strained it into my margarita glass.

The green color from the powder definitely takes over the color of the margarita.

For me personally, I am not a huge fan of the powder.  That being said, I don't think you should write it off because I didn't really like it.  I know a lot of people who love having their veggie drinks and I have a feeling this powder would be great for them.  Here is a little info. on the powder directly from their site:

"Kuli Kuli provides the highest quality most nutritious moringa available. Our moringa is rich in iron, calcium, vitamins, and antioxidants. A complete plant protein, our moringa contains all 9 essential amino acids."

Next I moved onto their coconut lime Moringa liquid.  I decided to create something on my own this time and see how it went.  I chose rum as my alcohol and mixed it with pineapple juice, cranberry juice and some of the Moringa coconut lime.

Now we're talk'n.  I liked the flavored liquid a lot better.  Sure I could still taste a bit of the plain Moringa in there, but it did not bother me at all and I finished the whole thing!

I would say, if you are looking for a healthier alternative to your cocktails one of these products by Kuli Kuli might be your answer.  Here is a link to their site where you can read more about their story and even purchase some of their products!

I hope you all have a great day!

Cheers!

Bacchus Break Silicone Wine Glasses Review and Give Away

Bacchus Break

Silicone Wine Glasses

I was contacted by Bacchus Break and asked if I would review their silicone wine glasses.  They sent me this for free so that I would give an honest review on this item.  All views are my own.  I was not compensated for them in any way.

I checked them out on Amazon and thought they looked neat......as long as they didn't leak, tip easy or make my wine taste like silicone.

First of all, when the box came I noticed their logo....on it read "Bacchus Break because drunk people drop shit".......um......heck yes they do!!

I thought that was pretty funny, so they scored a point from me before I even opened up the box.

Before you use these flexible wine glasses you are supposed to let them sit out for a day or two (if needed, I didn't need 2 days) to air out so that they can loose their silicone smell.

I will totally admit........I didn't think it would be completely gone.  I was wrong.

I aired them out for a day, then was a little hesitant to sniff them, but when I did I was pleasantly surprised!  They didn't smell AT ALL like silicone........OK, but would I taste it in my wine?

I poured a glass (the glassed I got are flat bottomed which is pretty neat).......hesitated, and then sniffed and took my first sip.

NO SILICONE FLAVOR AT ALL!

I had my husband try a sip or two from the glass too, just to make sure I wasn't missing something.  Nope, he didn't taste anything but wine either.  Amazing!!

I think these stemless silicone wine glasses are pretty amazing.

They're unbreakable wine glasses that aren't terribly easy to tip and don't leak, which are all bonuses!

They're perfect for outdoor gatherings, where dropping a glass on concrete is frowned upon. They would make a perfect gift for the wine lover who has everything.....except a pair of these!

All in all, I would recommend these wine glasses to anyone.  As a matter of fact, one of you LUCKY readers gets to win a pair of these exact same glasses!  When you receive them, we can cheers each other!!

This contest opens now and is open for 1 week!

Get your entries in and remember you can tweet about it once a day to earn extra entries!!

Once the contest is closed I will announce the randomly selected winner and send them out an email so that Bacchus Break can send them their very own set of silicone wine glasses.

Best of luck to you all!

Cheers!

UncommonGoods Review and Giveaway

UncommonGoods Review and Giveaway

I was sent a free product to review in exchange for my honest opinion.  All views in this post are mine and I was not compensated for them in any way.

I was contacted by UncommonGoods and asked to choose something from their Gifts For Women section here to review.

The choice was tough.

There were things I had never seen before!

I narrowed it down to a few  items and finally chose the Glass Birthstone Necklace.  My birthday is in July, so that's the one I chose.  It came in a cute little box and inside the necklace was in a smaller zip lock pouch with the clasp part closed outside of the box.

GENIUS!!

That made the necklace not tangle while being shipped to me!  I like my necklace, it's something that I probably will not find anywhere else, therefore it's unique which I think is great.

They have SO MANY different items to choose from on their site.  They have them broken down into different categories which help you find what you are looking for faster.

They have a section for Gifts for Wife which has a lot of different items like necklaces, socks, books and jewelry holders which you can check out here.  Along with that they have a section which is a little different as it's called Gifts for Girlfriend.

You can see the stuff they have there by clicking here.  Now there is overlap on these items, which is to be expected, but there are some other fun things on that list as well.

One of the things that I think is pretty darn cool about Uncommon Goods is the fact that they donate $1 of every purchase to your choice of one of the not-for-profit organizations that they are partnered with.  They've been doing this for 15 years and have donated over $1 million dollars to these charities around the world!  That's pretty awesome!

A lot of companies ask YOU if YOU want to donate extra money toward organizations, but this company just does it out of their profit.

Awesome.

Here are the Not-For-Profits that they donate to: RAINN, American Forests, Women for Women International and Reach Out & Read.

Even though there are beyond plenty of items to choose from on their site, they also have a section labeled "Uncommon Knowledge", which fits in well with their name.  There you will find a lot of information that you never knew.....and never realized you never knew.  I like that kind of stuff.

I know that I will be browsing through their site as Christmas approaches.  Some people on my list are hard to buy for because basically........they already have everything.....so I thought!  This site gives me a brand new wide variety of items to choose for the people who have everything.  I'm excited!!  OK, just thinking about Christmas approaching faster then I am ready for makes me think of cold weather, beanies, hot toddies, gloves and scarves!  Which reminds me.......UncommonGoods has a page for scarves too!!  Oh happy day......time to go check them out as well.  In need of a new winter scarf?  Look no further then here!

All in all, I really like their site and the items they have to offer.  I look forward to browsing their site and receiving their catalog in the mail (that I just signed up for!).  Let me know what you find and love!

Now onto the fun part!  Who wants to win a $25 gift certificate for UncommonGoods??  How cool is that?  They are offering one lucky reader a jump start on their first order!  Best of luck to you all!!  This drawing will be open for 1 week, so get your entries in!!

Purple Blossom Martini

 Purple Blossom Martini

Our family went to our local Art & Wine Festival a couple weeks ago.

As we are sitting in the shade (because it was super hot) eating our lunch, a friend of mine comes over looking for me.

"Jen!  I wanted to show you this, since you're The Cocktail Lady, and get your opinion and see what you think about it".

She pulled out a pomegranate grenadine that she had just purchased from Skylake Ranch and asked me about using it in cocktails.

Then she told me how much she LOVES their grill sauce and how it's the only way she can get her son to eat meat.  My husband heard "grill sauce" and took a look at the bottle she had purchased and then decided, "We need to go find this booth and check them out!".

Off we went, with beer in hand (Sam Adam's Octoberfest of course) off to find this booth.

We got there and met Chris.

We told him how our friend found us and told us all about the grill sauce and grenadine and he offered us samples of both, plus 2 different kinds of balsamic vinegar and jelly.  OH MY GOODNESS, they were ABSOLUTELY delicious!!!!

All of them.

Even having a taste of the white balsamic vinegar didn't make me do a squinchy faced dance!

Skylake Ranch is a family orchard, where they harvest pomegranates.  They are used in their vinegars, sauces, grenadine and jelly.  Needless to say.......we bought the grenadine, 2 of the grill sauces's, a balsamic vinegar and white balsamic vinegar.

Why we didn't get the jelly too......I have NO CLUE.........I blame the beer.....s.

Anyways, I loved all of the samples so much that I proclaimed to Chris that I would do a review on my blog about it.

I highly recommend trying any of their yummy items!  Here is a link to their site  Skylake Ranch check them out and make a purchase, you'll be glad you did!

They also have a Facebook page you can check out as well.  Me being me, I made one of their own cocktails.  It's an easy cocktail to make, and it's pretty darn delicious too!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for a Purple Blossom Martini:

  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1/2 ounce elderflower liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce pomegranate grenadine

In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Shake and strain into a martini glass and enjoy!!

Here's to finding out about a brand new ingredient to cook and drink with!  I wish you all at Skylake Ranch the best!!

Cheers!!
