Pumpkin Pie Eggnog

Pumpkin Pie Eggnog

It's Monday!

Time to start off a new week.

I have to admit this morning my day started off good at the gym.......then I got into the shower at the gym and TWICE my flip flop stuck to the shower floor as I was moving my foot and EEEEWWWWW my foot touched the floor.

Yup, you can bet I washed it real good......both times!

I don't know how you feel about gym showers, but I become a real germ-o-phobe when I'm in there.  I DON'T want to touch the walls or the floor or the shower curtain, no-no-no-no-no!!

After that my day turned right back around and was great!

Tonight I am cooking dinner and having my folks over and am very excited about it!!

As I said in my last post, I am going to try my hardest to start blogging and giving you all more cocktails!

Although eggnog doesn't always sit well with my tummy, I think that eggnog cocktails are pretty darn good.

I decided to revisit my Pumpkin Latta Martini and tweek it a little bit to include eggnog.  This cocktail is the perfect blend of pumpkin pie and eggnog flavors.

Delish!!

Time to start preparing dinner.......and maybe another cocktail while I'm at it?  Yes, yes I think that's in order!

Here is a photo of the end result:

  • 1 1/2 ounces pumpkin pie liqueur
  • 1 1/2 ounces eggnog

Here's to the last Monday of school for two whole weeks!!

Cheers!

Pumpkin Latta Martini

Happy day after Halloween!

Happy Anniversary to my husband too!

Last night seems to have gone by so fast.....too fast actually.

We had a fun day yesterday which started off with our second son's (now I get why bloggers give their children code names in their posts, it's much easier to type SS for second son or SC for second child or whatever code you want instead of  typing out the entire words each and every time you want to mention them) Halloween parade at school.

The girls got all dressed up to walk him to school and watch the parade.

After school we came home and made these witch hat treats which the kids enjoyed making.

Our SS (just trying it out to see how it feels.......yup, feels good) has decided that in his 9 years of age, he is officially too old to dress up and go trick or treating.

Period.

End of story.

He did however allow me to spray paint his hair and wore an eye mask as well, but that is as far as it went.

A couple friends (Mike & Angie) came over to have dinner and celebrate with us.

Angie passed out candy with SS and her husband hit the pavement with my husband  the girls and I.

The girls totally scored with way too much candy and were knocked out as their heads hit their pillows.  All in all, it was a great night.

Before we ate I decided to make my Oh So Yummy Pumpkin Cake Martini's for Angie and I to enjoy.  Only problem was that I didn't have enough cake vodka (gasp, what is wrong with The Cocktail Lady??).  Instead I grabbed another vodka and gave it a shake.

Let me warn you, your very first sip will taste pumpkin pie spicy for sure....maybe a bit too much for your taste, but DO NOT let that stop you!

These martinis are a little TOO good, they go down a little TOO easy, wow......just wow.

As we were sipping them we decided that the name had to reflect the cocktail and since they tasted a whole lot like pumpkin pie spices, we decided to add latta in the name.

I do know that these cocktails will be made many, upon many more times in this household.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is my own recipe for a Pumpkin Latta Martini:

  • 1 1/2 ounces pumpkin pie vodka
  • 1 1/2 ounces pumpkin pie liqueur
  • 3/4 ounces milk

In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Shake and strain into a martini glass.

I hope you all had a safe but fun Halloween.

Cheers!

Pumpkin Mudslide

Yes I'm aware it's not quite noon yet.

Don't judge me.

Today's cocktail is definitely in order, I assure you.  Why you ask?  Well the fever bug has been and still is running through our house.  I was up in the middle of the night with our latest fever reliever last night and today....well.....I just need a cocktail.

Things have been good, crazy, busy, fun, and non-stop here for the past week few weeks.  Somehow it became October without anyone asking me if it was OK.

Well, I must say it is OK.

Now it is that time of the year for pumpkin flavored cocktails.

I found this Pumpkin Mudslide from Spryte's Place.

Apparently her sister introduced this cocktail to her a couple years ago and when I found it I knew I had to give it a try.

Glad I did!  Please thank you sister Spryte!

This cocktail is quite good.

Their recipe calls for equal amounts of each ingredient and a splash of milk (or however much you would like).  I decided on an amount and added it to it, but I think you could even skip the milk to taste the liqueurs even more.

I will be remembering this cocktail and will whip up a batch of it at an upcoming get together for sure.

Here is a photo of the end result:

pumpkin mudslide, vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, kahlua, pumpkin pie liqueur, milk, pumpkin cocktail, fall cocktail, autumn cocktail, halloween cocktail

  • 1 ounce coffee liqueur

Here is to the first of (hopefully) many holiday/seasonal cocktails on the way!

Pumpkin-Chai Pie

Day 303

Pumpkin-Chai Pie
5 shots out of 5

Happy Friday!

My husband is officially off of work for three weeks.

Today when my kids came home from school I hugged them a little tighter.

What a horrible, sad thing that happened today in Connecticut.  Makes me sick to my stomach.

I am very thankful for my children, I love them dearly.

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

Oh my, did I create a winner or did I create a winner?!?!

This little shooter is scrumptious.

The chai and the pumpkin flavors (once again like in my Pumpkin Chai Coffee) go amazingly together and the whipped cream vodka adds a nice touch to this cocktail as well.

Make sure you put the whipped cream on top of it too, it adds to it's awesomeness!  I hope you are all having a great day and will have a fun weekend filled with delicious cocktails!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Pumpkin Cake Martini

Day 272

Pumpkin Cake Martini
5 shots out of 5

Pumpkin Cake Martini is a great mix of pumpkin flavors and cake vodka, perfect to any Halloween or fall evening.

Oh my goodness this has been the longest day.....ever!  Problem is, it's STILL not over!!

I still have to make sure all 4 kids, husband and I all eat.  My husband has a soccer ratings meeting and I have a meeting to go to with my oldest for an 8th grade trip they're taking.  This cocktail is....SOOOO needed!!

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

What a "perfect" cocktail to help me relieve some of today's stress!

3 easy ingredients, 2 of which are available year round.

I was totally nervous about this cocktail because I know how spicy the Pumpkin Pie Liqueur is and I was worried that 1 1/2 ounces of it would be too much, but it's not!  It's the most perfectest amount EVER!

Needless to say, I love this Pumpkin Cake Martini and will be gulping the rest of it down here in a couple minutes!  I found this recipe at daydreamerdesserts.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Pumpkin Chai Coffee

Day 267

Pumpkin Chai Coffee
5 shots out of 5

It's raining, it's pouring........what better on a rainy day then a hot coffee?

I'll tell you, a hot coffee with some liqueurs in it, that's what!

Tonight's the night, we go to our oldest son's high school orientation and finally have to admit that, Yes, our son is old enough to be starting high school next year.

I gave tonight's this afternoon's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

I still had not finished my coffee I had made from this morning, so why not create a cocktail with it?

I have already created Jen's Chai Coffee a little while back and now that I have purchased this pumpkin pie liqueur, I thought it would make a great addition to my coffee.

I was right!  This is going to be a Fall-time favorite around here, I just know it!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is my recipe for a Pumpkin Chai Coffee:

  • 5 1/2 oz coffee
  • 1/2 oz Voyant Chai Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Pumpkin Pie Liqueur
In a coffee cup, pour in all of your ingredients, stir and heat until it's comfortable for you to drink!  You can add whipped cream on top, which I would have done if the kids hadn't used it all and put the empty can back in the fridge.

Here's to warm Fall cocktails!

Fall in Vermont

Day 265

Fall in Vermont
3 shots out of 5

101 more cocktails (after tonight) to go.

WOW, I'm going to be in double digits here pretty soon.

Unbelievable!

Tuesday marks soccer practice and a presidential election to find out about.

May the person you voted for win (especially if you voted for who I voted for).

OK, that's as far as I'm getting into politics, now onto the cocktail!

I gave tonight's cocktail 3 shots out of 5.

I can see this cocktail's potential, I really can, it's just that it's a bit too spicy for me.

My first sip I took I thought the reason for the spiciness was the cinnamon I sprinkled on top.

Keeping that in mind for my second sip, I blew the cinnamon across the glass so that I would be sure not to sip any........yea it wasn't the cinnamon on top.

Apparently the Fulton's Pumpkin Pie Liqueur is spicier then I had initially given it credit for.

Unfortunately because of the spiciness, it's going to be hard for me to finish this cocktail.

For those of you who do enjoy the extra spiciness in your cocktail, you may just really like this one that I found here!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for Fall in Vermont:

  • 1 1/2 oz light rum
  • 1 oz Fulton's Pumpkin Pie Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Kahlua
  • ground cinnamon

In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above except for the ground cinnamon.  Shake up your mixture well and strain it into your martini glass.  Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top and enjoy!

Here's to so many of my cocktails being in martini glasses!

Nutty Pumpkin

Day 264

Nutty Pumpkin
5 shots out of 5

The Nutty Pumpkin is an absolute perfect mix of pumpkin, coffee and nut flavors with a fun layered look.

It's Monday.

In three days I go to the local high school for an 8th grade orientation for our oldest son.

If I stop and think about it, it totally blows my mind that I have a child going into high school next school year.  It also gives me a kick or reality by letting me know that I AM about 14 years older then I though I was.

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

I was at our local grocery store today and saw a bottle of Fulton's Pumpkin Pie Liqueur on an end stand.

Looked interesting so I bought a bottle.

I found tonight's cocktail here.

When I opened and smelled this liqueur it smelled like pumpkin and spices and I was excited to try my first cocktail (more to come for sure) with it.

I layered this shooter the way I was told to........and the amaretto.......yea, it doesn't float on top of the Fulton's Pumpkin Pie Liqueur like they say it should.

It actually sunk under the Fulton's and floated on top of the Kahlua, pretty cool I thought, and that's why there is that different colored ring where the Kahlua meets the Fulton's.

I can taste all of the ingredients in this shooter and they all go quite well together.

The Nutty Pumpkin is an easy shooter to take.

Here is a photo of the end result:

fall cocktail, autumn cocktail, halloween cocktail, pumpkin cocktail, kahlua, coffee liqueur, pumpkin pie liqueur, amaretto

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

fall cocktail, autumn cocktail, halloween cocktail, pumpkin cocktail, kahlua, coffee liqueur, pumpkin pie liqueur, amaretto

Here is the recipe for a Nutty Pumpkin:

  • 3/4 oz Kahlua
  • 3/4 oz Fulton's Pumpkin Pie Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz amaretto

In a shot glass, pour in your Kahlua.  Carefully layer your Fulton's on top by slowly pouring it on the backside of a spoon that is touching the inside of the shot glass and slanted downward right above the Kahlua.  Last using the same layering technique layer the amaretto on top of that.

Here's to all of the pumpkin flavored cocktails in the fall!

Cheers!!
